In Women’s History Month, we are honored to represent so many women writers

Since our founding two decades ago, our publishing house has included the voices of women from our landmark collection Friendship & Faith—to the more than 100 women student-journalists and expert allies who have contributed to our long-running Bias Busters book series through the Michigan State University School of Journalism.
For Women’s History Month 2026, we published a ReadTheMagazine Cover Story reprinting the inspiring account of internationally known humanitarian Najah Bazzy, titled “Why Our Hands Reach Out”—a text originally published as a chapter in the book Friendship & Faith.
We could post a very, very long column listing all of the women we’ve published over the past two decades, but we’ve decided to focus on two women whose books we published in 2025, both of which explore aspects of gender.
First, psychologist Margaret Stack wrote a combined memoir and biography of her husband, the Catholic theologian Anthony “Tony” Kosnick, titled God in the House. Together, Margaret and Tony were at the forefront of Catholic efforts to expand the global church’s understanding of gender. On this page, you can learn much more about Margaret, Tony, the book and you can see a short video about it, as well.
Then, writer, educator, pastor, and photographer Christy Berghoef’s memoir Rooted also explores gender as Christy writes about her spiritual journey of coming home again. If you follow this link, you can read the first chapter of her memoir.
So, there are three inspiring starting points if you’d care to meet some of the remarkably creative women in our global community of authors and journalists.
