Who we are
We are Front Edge Publishing, learn more about us over at our About page.
What we collect, how and why
When you fill out a contact form on our website, we gather the information you are actively sharing with us in order to respond to your inquiry. We also temporarily store some information on our servers such as IP address in order to block spammers. We will never use the information you provide for marketing purposes, unless you explicitly request it.
Email Subscription Forms
Some of the forms on our website allow you to opt-in to receive emails from us. When you sign up to receive emails, we send your submitted data to MailChimp for storage in our email list. When you receive an email from our mailing list, MailChimp collects some analytics data and creates performance reports.
These reports let us know how many of our subscribers open an email and how many click on links inside the email. This also reports on which subscribers complete these actions. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time. However, unsubscribing does not completely delete your data from our MailChimp account.
Mailchimp does not provide an automated method of deleting contact data, so we occasionally check the list and delete contacts that have been unsubscribed for at least a few months. If you wish to remove your data from MailChimp sooner, you may contact us and we will permanently delete your information from our MailChimp account.
We allow MailChimp to collect this data so that can track the performance of our email campaigns so that we can improve them. We will only send you marketing emails based on what you opted into.
We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to collect anonymous data about our website visitors.
What we do collect
We collect the following analytics data:
- Amount of visitors and individual page performance
- Length of time on page and how many pages visited
- General location and language
- Device information such as browser and operating system used to access our site
- How visitors arrived at our site (for example, through a search, social media link, or from a link on another website)
- Which search terms were used to find our site
How long we keep this data
Google Analytics retains this data for 26 months before deleting it.
What we don’t collect
The data we collect with analytics aggregated and anonymous. We do not collect any information that can be used to identify individual visitors such as age, gender, interests, email address, IP address, and so on.
We collect some site analytics information to understand how our website is performing, which areas of the site can be improved, and how visitors are finding us.
In order to promote our mailing list, we occasionally will include a time-based popup that asks if you want to subscribe after a certain amount of time on a page. When you dismiss this popup, we add a cookie to your browser so that the popup doesn’t keep showing up on repeat visits to that page. This cookie expires after 6 weeks.
Some articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share data with
Other than the third parties previously mentioned—Google Analytics and Google Search Console, MailChimp—we share the management of this website, our Google accounts, and our MailChimp account with contractual partners who act as an extension of our staff and are subject to the same privacy practices outlined here.
We will never sell or otherwise share the information you provide us with third-party advertisers or data collectors.
Rights to your data
We don’t store any of your personal data here. If you have previously subscribed to our mailing list, you may reach out to us directly to request that we permanently delete all of your data from our MailChimp account.
