Najah Bazzy moves from book to YouTube video in sharing wisdom of Ramadan
One of the first books we published, nearly two decades ago, was a small guide to understanding the traditions—and the spiritual wonders—of the fasting month of Ramadan for Muslims. The book was written by one of the famous American Muslim educators: Najah Bazzy.
It’s rare to see women playing such roles within Islam. And, Bazzy’s work as a humanitarian, interfaith leader, nurse, and founder and CEO of Zaman International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty and its causes, has led to more than a dozen awards and honors. Many of those are listed on her Wikipedia page.
Now, as Ramadan has started in 2026, Najah has posted this 11-minute video introduction to Ramadan through the Tasneem Institute. Tasneem is a nonprofit “dedicated to enhancing Islamic literacy within our communities by offering enriching educational resources through concise online courses, engaging video content, and insightful publications.”
