Front Edge Publishing Announces Departure of Patty Thompson

JANUARY 2026—With sadness, our Front Edge Publishing leadership announces the departure of our friend and long-time pillar: Patty Thompson, who has stepped away as our financial manager due to health concerns. The many authors we represent have come to know Patty as the quarterly voice of our publishing house through the regular statements she prepares for them and, in many cases, the questions she has answered over the years.
Our core team respects Patty as a valuable contributor to our work. Her meticulous attention to financial detail, analysis, and projections has been foundational to keeping our publishing house sustainable to serve all our authors and our readers around the world.
Beyond her professional contributions, Patty’s commitment to service extends throughout her community and home state of Michigan. She was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her 23+ years of Rotary Service Above Self—a testament to the generous spirit she brings to everything she does.
Dr. David Gushee, whose book Changing Our Mind has helped tens of thousands of families worldwide, recently reminded Patty that we all are proud of the way her professional work contributed to helping so many people worldwide.
Dr. Gushee wrote, in part: “Thank you for working with me so kindly and generously over these years on the financial and numbers part of this book. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you and that I am praying earnestly for your strength and peace during this time.” Then, he provided an example of the countless letters he has received from family members who feel that lives were saved by the pastoral advice in the book Patty helped our team to publish. Changing Our Mind was “a transformative encounter” that helped this family to resolve deep conflict.
We all deeply miss Patty’s expertise and daily presence. We also understand that her decision to step back was necessary. Like Dr. Gushee, we all hope and pray for her and her family in 2026.
