This is the first of two columns in which I’m sharing current book-marketing tips for authors.
Most publishers and publicists would be hesitant to share their check lists so publicly, but this is part of the distinctive 10 Principles of Publishing at Front Edge—one of which is “Radical transparency is good business, certainly in publishing.”
As the publishing house’s marketing director, I use the following two-page document to review numerous marketing strategies with our authors.
One of the advantages of the hybrid book publishing model is that our authors share equally with our staff in controlling their content and their marketing. Our authors also become part of what truly is a community of authors. We use our own social media networks to promote our authors’ newest work—and that effort is amplified as many of our other authors help each other.
Together we are a powerhouse team.
We hope that you’ll find this list of Book Marketing Tips helpful and encouraging. If we can answer any questions, we’re here to help. You can reach our team at [email protected], or you can contact Susan directly at [email protected].
