Why It’s Important for Authors and Publishers to Have a ZibbyMag Cover Reveal

Why did we trust ZibbyMag?

Recently we trusted one of our new book covers into the hands of media mogul Zibby Owens, or rather into the hands of one part of her media empire —ZibbyMag.com.

Who is Zibby Owens? In a short number of years she’s become one of the most powerful book influencers in the United States. Think young Oprah. 

Owens is the daughter of a billionaire: Stephen A. Schwarzman, co-founder, chairman and CEO of The Blackstone Group. Zibby, i.e Elizabeth, created the Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books podcast in the spring of 2018. By the end of 2019 she had recorded 200 episodes, which had been downloaded a quarter of a million times. She was quickly off to an amazing start. Since then she’s interviewed over 1200 authors and her podcasts have been downloaded over 9 million times. A recent look at her podcast stats indicate that she’s recorded over 1500 episodes and has earned a 4.6 rating on Apple Podcasts. 

Zibby continues to expand her empire. It now includes a publishing house, Zibby Books, an online magazine Zibby Mag, and the podcast network Zibby Audio, which produces her award-winning podcast.  Zibby’s podcast Instagram page has over 28,000 followers. Her ZibbyMag Instagram account has just under 5,000 followers. 

First and foremost, Zibby is an author and a woman who loves books. She has authored 4 books of her own, Bookends: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Literature and Princess Charming—a children’s book—and two anthologies that were published during the Covid-19 pandemic. This woman is not an underachiever.

It is within these capable hands that we decided to trust the cover reveal of our first cozy mystery, All Is Now Lost by Laura Elizabeth. 

How Did We Connect with ZibbyMag?

In April I saw an offer for a cover reveal on the ZibbyMag.com website and reached out to their social media manager, Beca Kindling. Beca offered a couple of June dates that were open for the cover reveal, around the time that All Is Now Lost would be available for pre-sale. I provided cover art and a book description and author bio. We were delighted to see the artwork that ZibbyMag.com provided and posted on their Instagram page on June 14th.
