Shining Brightly: Howard Brown’s ‘raving fans’ are helping him to spread sunshine

Men and women around the world send Howard Brown photos of themselves holding up his book, Shining Brightly, as a sign that they want to join Howard in spreading some sunshine to the people they meet.

This week is my Book Birthday. Shining Brightly officially burst onto the world stage on September 27, 2023, with 3 “No. 1 New Release” bestseller flags from Amazon.

I’ve been an active part of the Front Edge Publishing community of authors for years—because it took a while to write and edit and design my book. So, I’m well aware that the whole FEP team likes to talk about welcoming “allies and angels” to help spread the good word about our books.

I’m writing this column to kick that goal up a notch.

Yes, I’m always encouraging people to find allies in their lives. Allies are life giving. I’m here today because of allies who surrounded me during some of my life’s most challenging times.

But, I’m going even further than “allies” in promoting Shining Brightly. I’m building raving fans.

Hmmm, does that sound like a sports metaphor? Then, it won’t surprise you to learn that I love basketball, especially. All my life, basketball has been my “happy place” for physical and psychological renewal during dire challenges like stage IV cancer or the high tension and overwhelming stress of trying to launch a new entrepreneurial enterprise. When I think of team building, I immediately think of basketball metaphors.

That’s why, as an author now, I’m openly encouraging raving fans.

My readers get it. That’s why they started sending me their photographs, holding up my book as a sign that they want to join me in spreading sunshine to the people we meet each day.

Believe me: Our troubled world needs a whole lot more sunshine! The people we love, our coworkers, our neighbors and even the strangers we meet each day will light up if we just show them some of that warm, caring spirit. I know because I’ve seen it everday, wherever I travel across the U.S., talking about the transformative spirit of Shining Brightly.

So, c’mon! If you haven’t already, please order your copy of Shining Brightly from Amazon. If you’ve already got a copy, then buy a second one and give it to a friend today.

Then, visit my website ShiningBrightly.com—and send me a photo of you holding up the sunny cover of my book. I love sharing these photos across social media to spread the sunshine, one smile at a time.

Want proof this idea works?

Just look at this following sample of photos folks have sent me. As you look at these photos, I bet a grin will start to spread across your face. C’mon, give it a try! Look at these wonderful folks as they spread the sunshine.

As you scroll down, you’ll see that, in a few cases when I’ve been traveling to speak at events, people also sometimes have pulled me over to pose with them for these Shining Brightly photos.

You’re smiling, aren’t you?

Keep that feeling going. If you haven’t already, order a copy of Shining Brightly from Amazon. If you’ve already got a copy, then buy a second one and give it to a friend today.
